Just a simple post from my iPhone, using the free Wordpress app. It took a while to work out the XML issues but now works a charm! Just have to used to the keyboard on the device!

I know this sounds like it could be about John Lennon or picturing a better world, but no, in fact it is about Apple opening a new store here in Australia. Sydney in fact, and the fervor, gossip, and excitement that is building on the net and amongst the Apple user community around the store opening on June 19 and the imminent release of the iPhone here.
But, while I am an avid Apple user and will be one of the first in line (hopefully and figuratively speaking) to get one of the new iPhone’s, I was reading an article today about the new store opening on the Sydney Morning Herald site;
If you’re planning to pop in and check out the new Sydney Apple Store when it opens for business on Thursday next week, be prepared to wait in line. If you want to ensure you get in early, you might consider camping out overnight.
It’s not a stunt. There are hardcore Apple fans who will do this; their only reward, a free T-shirt if they happen to be among the first 2500 customers through the door.
Disciples like these have been doing it for several years with the opening of each of the new flagship Apple stores around the world. Despite this being winter, they’ll be lining up again ahead of the official opening at 5pm on Thursday, June 19.

Gismodo have just published what most of those in the industry suspected, and for those of us wanting one, were desperate to hear. Apple will be releasing the 3G iPhone at the WWDC Keynote on June 9th in the USA - and then sales of the new phone will be available World Wide.
I have been following the iPhone in Australia blog for sometime now as they have attempted to scour the net for news of the imminent release of the new iPhone in Oz. Just checked them and even this news has yet to hit their pages!
I have used Treos and other Palm devices with my Mac(s) and while the Palm OS was great with the Mac OS, in my view Palm lost the plot when they added Microsoft’s Mobile OS to the Treo - I guess because of the telephone side of things but still - a pain to use none-the-less! Even with MarkSpace’s program I have found the Treo unreliable, fickly and generally a pain to use. At one stage I used an early iMate with my Mac with much less hassles - even syncing Contacts and Calendar with no hassles - unlike the 90% failure rate I get with the Treo.
Yeah, you can call me an Apple evangelist - but I find that all Apple products work beautifully with one another and perform their jobs effortlessly. So I am looking forward to a long-awaited device that will allow me to carry my “life” in the palm of my hand and is uber easy to use.
Now all I have to do is save up for one!
