Is it just me or is the Network 9 show “Wipeout” based on the Japanese show of a similar nature where “stars” have to fit through styrofoam cut-outs an environental disaster? Besides the derogatory fashion in which the host spoke to the supposed “coach pototoes” this last week, has anyone else wondered what happens to all that styrofoam?

Well, a couple of days ago my wife and I renewed our Victorian drivers licences. This gave thought and pause for reflection on a number of fronts. Do I mention that my wife was given a 25% discount for three years of exemplery driving with no tickets and fines! I didn’t mention the fact that I most of the driving! But, regardless I am proud of her and the discount!
Anyway, firstly it gave me pause to think about the past three years. Yeah, not long you might say but that was the last time I renewed my licence, or should I say that was when I changed back from a Queensland licence to a Victorian one - and the three years? Well it was cheaper than the ten years and at that time we were skint from the move back here! But that is besides the point (hey, I do have a tendency to become distracted!) - what gave me pause to think was about the period of three years. (more…)

But it is the Breviary that Missio Dei recently published that I am going to write about in the coming weeks as I start to utilise the breviary for morning and afternoon prayers. My plan is to start tomorrow morning, and try establish a rhythm of spending time with God in the mornings and afternoons with the aid of the breviary. Why did they create the breviary? (more…)

Further to my post about my affect on the Planet, I happened upon a fellow called Jon Gabriel.
Now before I go any further, let me share that yes I am have tried many, many diets in my life time and the only success I could boast would have been the time with Weight Watchers… but costs and a move interstate put that to rest amidst the stress of moving etc. So yes, I am overweight and yes, I have tried many diets and in fact would consider myself skeptical of anything that promotes weight loss - even the tv reality show - the one I won’t mention but you know what I mean.

As you may have guessed if you have come to this blog in teh past few months, I have been very lax in writing anything new and have been more involved in finding a good theme to use than writing.
I hope that will change now and I can start to write some more!
