Just found and enjoying these Aussie siblings. This is “Hollywood” - quite a deep song but enjoyable.

Ok, while I am not going to comment on the election, apart from saying pray hard and consider the choice, I found this today which made me laugh, I guess because I appreciate the take on well known film director’s and genre’s being used to promote/poke fun at McCain. While not real, these are done quite cleverly. Enjoy.

From The Streets - Everything is Borrowed.
“I came into the World with nothing, and leave with nothing but love. Everything else is borrowed.”
I love the lyrics and the images. While not quite the situation of a family we are helping with at the moment - it does remind me of many of the stories I am hearing and yes, it brings tears to my eyes.

Sorry for so many posts today - I am having a quiet day and have been reading my News reader and reflecting on where things are going for me and the family. Anyway! This video was on a blog I read by someone employed to help produce media for a church in the US. I laughed so much throughout, relating to the poor designer the whole way through. My past in advertising, marketing and graphic design was so much like this video it is scary!
You guys wander why many things look as they do… behold and wonder at the creative process! LOL! (more…)

New film coming out called Religulous -here’s the trailer from youtube!
I was following the trail after seeing the trailer for Religulous on the Apple site and ended up on disbeliefnet where there is an article called “Jesus and His Magic Kingdom“. So, I start reading and was pleased to see and I agree with the author over the following (minus some of the hyperbole!).
After hanging around at his house until he was 30 years old, Jesus struck out on his own, and his act soon gained a strong following. As his entourage grew larger, and more dependent on him to make them look cool, he decided to mix in a few lessons he picked up from his real dad. He taught them some doctrines of faith, like charity, compassion, non-violence, tolerance and love – values that the church established in his name would selectively forget about centuries later.
The part that I love though is the last sentence! I couldn’t agree more with this statement! Great stuff! Not sure about the rest of the site or the movie (although the movie does look good and has some great moments in the trailer where it explores the above statement, especially all the showy, glamorous “Christian” and religious figures yhe world.

This a video by John Piper I caught on a blog I read by JR. This is very good at saying what needs to be said about the Prosperity Doctrine that pervades the church in USAmerica and the west, including Australia (yeah, you too CF!).
Love to hear your comments.

This is an interesting video that explores some of the most influential people of the modern age and the fact that they… failed. (HT Bob Carlton)
